Make sure you inquire about additional information that they may have on the products they carry, such as brochures and catalogs. Also, you may want to inquire about getting on their fax or mailing list. (If they have one.) Some companies have these programs to announce special prices or limited time offers. Keep in mind that some wholesalers may require a tax ID number or business license to buy their products!

DROP-SHIPPING

Companies listed in this directory followed by an asterisk (*) are in the drop-shipper category. Drop-shipping means you could sell merchandise without first buying and stocking an inventory of it.
Basically, you obtain orders for merchandise which you, in turn, forward to the supplier, along with the wholesale price for the item you order. The supplier then ships the item directly to your customer!

With drop-shipping, it is usually not necessary to invest money in a stock of merchandise before it is sold! There are many other advantages to using the drop-ship method including but not limited to:

• Less shipping problems
• No lost revenue on unsold goods
• No need for warehouse space
• Allows you to offer a wide variety of products to your customers

Drop shipping does come with a cost however. Since the supplier has to package and ship the products, they will charge you a shipping and handling fee that you need to add in to your sale price to cover your expenses. So find out exactly what these fees are in advance!
