Heku, Book 1 of the Heku Series, begins the journey of Emily, a rancher from Montana, and Chevalier, a heku. Chevalier comes from a species indigenous to Earth, yet older than the humans. Mythical creatures of the night came about from encounters with the heku, yet they are none of them.
