<p>Henry Wright was just about to retire from the Eagle River, Wisconsin, Police Department when his wife, Irma, suddenly passed away while they were on a retirement house hunting trip. Now a widower, Henry moved from Wisconsin to the Coachella Valley in Southern California at the invitation of an old friend and police force colleague, Wayne Johnson.</p> <p>Henry lives there with his friend and housemate, Charles Knightly III, in a mid-fifties home in one of the older sections of Palm Springs.</p> <p>Rex Thornbird, one of the most successful realtors in all of Palm Springs is found dead in a large pool of blood in one of the houses he is selling. There are no signs of struggle, no fingerprints, no DNA, nothing to point at the potential murderer.</p> <p>The police are baffled until Henry Wright is asked to help out on the case to see who might have wanted to see Thornbird dead. The list of suspects is as long as the list of Thornbird's clients as Henry sets out to unravel this mystery. What was Thornbird hiding that prompted his violent death?</p>
