I cognize 1st hand because I have lived with this often misunderstood disorder for over twenty five years. At the age of six I started to have facial and body tics. As I got older it worsened. The problems I had enclosed
excessive blinking, eye rolling, throat clearing, nail biting, touching objects etc. During my late teens piece I was at college, things started acquiring actually tough.
I went to see my doctor a few times just about my tics. The 1st couple of times the doctor just aforesaid that it was nothing to worry just about and that it would-be shortly pass. Well it didn't. Eventually he got me to see a couple of specialists in this field. Though these therapists tried, they couldn't cure my problems. I besides tried alternative therapies such as stylostixis and homeopathy, but unluckily none of them helped.
That's once
I started disbursement hours about everyday trying to find a cure to my problems, and then eventually after about ten years of research I managed to easily cure my mind desensitizing disorder without any type of medicine or side effects.
Over the years I detected
that several medical specialists in this field tagged
the problems I had as Tourette's syndrome piece a few called it OCD, which is short for Obsessional Compulsive Disorder. Now what is Brain doctor 's syndrome and what is OCD? Before I explain these two disorders, I would-be like to say that medical professionals seem to love giving labels to problems folk have and at times piece doing that, they complicate things. All I cognize with my simple mind is that, I lived with these problems for over twenty five years and none of them could cure my problems. A brief explanation of the terms Tourette's syndrome and OCD, as understood by medical professionals is given below.
Tourette's syndrome: Tourette's syndrome is classified as an anxiety disorder characterised by tics — involuntary, rapid, abrupt movements or vocalizations that occur repeatedly in the same way. The much common tics are eye blinking, coughing, throat clearing, sniffing, facial movements.
Individuals with this disorder feel the urge to carry out specific ss such as blinking, coughing etc to release a build up of tension. The ss they carry out worsen once
they are in stress and besides once
they are aware of their problem and forcefully try to put a finish to it.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: In OCD, sufferers experience repetitive, intrusive and unwelcome impulses and doubts which they find hard to ignore. Obsessions are the impulses folk have and reoccur over and over again. Feeling overly disquieted just about the hands being dirty for example are obsessional feelings. In order to do the obsessional feelings go away the compulsions are performed. Overly washing the hands are compulsions. The much an individual tries to finish carrying out the rituals the harder he or she would-be find it to finish and it worsens once
the individual is under stress. Several common OCD's are touching, excessive double-checking, nail biting, hand washing, cleaning, ordering/arranging.
It can be seen that whether the sufferer's disorder is classified as OCD or Tourette's syndrome, they have one thing in common. The sufferer feels a strong urge to repeatedly carry out a specific s in order to release a build up of tension.
How do these feelings originate?
In a game of football (soccer) your team has been awarded a penalty kick and you have been chosen to be the penalty kick taker. At that moment it wouldn't be unusual to have a thought like “I am going to miss the goal”. Normally once
you start thinking that way the will comes true. This is a fairly common problem not just with football; it's the same with any sport whether it's baseball or rugby.
In any situation that provokes anxiety folk tend to have revenant thoughts. At times these thoughts can become so strong that it starts to effect simple tasks which then further increase the anxiety level. If these revenant thoughts continue for a length of time it could become a vicious cycle that a person finds difficult to break. Tourette's fall in this category.
