Absolutely LOVE your book. It is the most attractively presented, synchronic horticulture book I have ever seen. I am presently waiting on my husband, Terry to see it so that he can prayerfully, plant a number of tomato plants successfully.

Queensland tomatoes, purchased from grocer etc. are so improbably tasteless. I cannot believe the difference. Do hope your book continues to sell successfully. I am, of course recommending it to all my friends . . .

This book is simply wonderful. You have everything I hoped would-be be in the publication - and more. Really nicely bestowed and actually fun to look through. I am planting tomatoes for the 1st time and my 84 year old Dad is in another state, planting tomatoes as he has for his entire life. We are enjoying talking simply about our plants and I see to him from your book once we get into discussions simply about specifics - fertiliser for example. You are in the conversation!

Last year I picked simply about 10kg total off my main plant. This year after following your advice, that doubled. For years I've put effort into preparing the soil before I planted them, but I ne'er followed up with the additional fertiliser applications which you mention. I found your tips on fertilising extraordinary, I ne'er new simply about the root dipping tip, which has a big impact on the size of my plants. With all the drought problems we have, acquiring the watering right has been crucial.  Thanks!

Not morbid and deformed ones like these

Let me tell you though, surfboarding the internet, trying to find answers to all your tomato growing problems and then trying to sort out the facts from the anecdotal drivel is tough work.

This is my story of how I discovered what to do . . .

I was fed up with reading conflicting advice, planting lots of varieties, experimenting with fertiliser and watering, losing too galore tomatoes to illness and only acquiring a couple of kilos each harvest.  I was at my wits end.

Then I had a stroke of good luck! I ran into a former colleague who I hadn't seen for several time.

She has a Masters Degree in Plant Illness and works as a Plant Nutrition Adviser for a worldwide institution in the farming industry. I begged her to tell me what I was doing wrong!  She came about and had a look at my plants and in 5 minutes flat she had diagnosed four simple problems

All those months of frustration complete right there. She saved me heaps of time and money with her advice.

While we were talking a neighbour popped in and shortly she began telling my friend simply about the problems she was having with her crop.   So we went next door and had a look at her plants and sure enough she had a few of the same problems as well, plus a couple of extra ones.

1.

We'd several been exploitation the wrong fertilizers at the wrong growth stages

2.

We were several guilty of incorrect pruning - so our plants were covered with lots of small fruit and not too galore big ones

3.

Neither of us had a clue actually once it came to watering, particularly during the severe drought we'd simply lived through.

4.

Some of my plants had end rot - a common problem which is easy to fix once you cognize how.

5.

Some of my neighbour's fruits were distorted and several had black spots on them.

Within minutes Lucia (my former colleague) had told us how to fix these problems and what we needful to do once we planted our next crop to minimise the chances of these issues happening again.

Sure enough - my next crop was a lot healthier than I had ever been able to accomplish before, and so was my neighbour's.

Needless to say our encompassing neighbours and visiting friends were astonied (and a little covetous I suspect) to see the transformation. They wanted to cognize what we had done, if they too could meet my friend.

I contacted Lucia and told here she'd caused a bit of stir among tomato growers in my area!  Lots of folk wanted her help.

However she is in great demand professionally and travels extensively with her job, talking to university researchers, professional growers, horticulturists and garden produce store owners. When she's not traveling she's writing technical articles simply about plant nutrition and illness control and conducting crop trials.

So how did we get about this?

How could her valuable cognition be ready-made accessible to all the home growers, as well as the professional growers? I'll tell you how . . . We distinct to put it all into a book. A book which is focused wholly on tomatoes.

Lucia sifted through her reams and reams of technical articles and presentations and I gave her a hand putt it all together into simple language that we could all understand.

We accessorial hundreds of photos and captions to do it even as better.

I canvassed all my friends and neighbors to find out what they wanted to cognize most and ready-made sure that the book had all the answers they needed.

We then talked to growers in another countries to find out what they wanted to cognize and ready-made sure that those questions were besides answered.

So - we've complete up with a humongous 88 page "Bible" of tomato growing tips. A book filled with an astounding figure of detail and photos on every aspect of choosing, planting and cultivating healthy tasty tomatoes.
