	Ron, The audition was interesting. I was under the impression that I was auditioning for the lead key position but that was not the case. They have a piano player that has been with the Church for a long time. But ... after speaking with the another members, they are itching for person who can play another than what is written on sheet music and add color and depth. Well .. that's me. I got the job. I had to cold play off a lead sheet. I would-be ne'er have been able to do that prior to taking your lessons. They aforesaid I would-be be able to activity my way into lead key roles as time went on. Select a "rhythm" pattern on your keyboard... (ROCK, POP, LATIN...etc.) OR Choice a comfortable tempo on your metronome, if you're exploitation an acoustic piano!
Adjust the tempo... wherever you can play at a comfortable speed. PLEASE DON'T TRY TO PLAY TOO FAST!
Practice playing a consistent "bass" pattern in your left hand - one that is appropriate for the rhythm pattern you selected. Try to keep a consistent beat! PLAY LIKE A BASS PLAYER.
If you don't cognize a bass pattern, just play one note! Do sure you're playing in time, to the rhythm.
REPEAT the bass pattern at least 20 times!
Once you can maintain a consistent pattern in your left hand, try to play a SIMPLE melody in your right hand.

REMEMBER... you don't have to become a "piano playing" athlete to play piano well! IT'S Simply just about Devising MUSIC!

I would-be like to give thanks you for your ongoing support, knowledge and timely wisdom.

Although, I have only been a piano student for a little over a year and a half, I have seen much progress as I look back!

I had perfectly no music experience or training back then, and didn't even as cognize wherever to place my fingers on the keyboard!

I have accomplished that by practicing each lesson over and over and over, that it gets easier and is now FUN.

Everyday I practice a Hanon exercise BEFORE I start any practices. I ne'er knew that it would-be be so more fun playing a piano.

I am a 56 years young husband and father, and with music in my family's life, it just allows each day to go a little smoother. I find myself humming more, replaying a particular song in my mind, and can't wait to try and play it once I get home!

Very therapeutic... I have no idea wherever this musical journey will take me, but the learning and applications are a good challenge, yet rewarding.
