Yep‚ that's what they told me once
I was just 34 years old. My middle toe on my right foot had swollen to about three times its normal size.It hurt enormously to walk. So, my husband had taken me to a chiropodist who was a friend of ours.He took one look at my toe and aforesaid that I had "sausage toe."
"What in the earth is sausage toe?" I questioned. He asked me if I had any form of skin disease or psoriasis. He explained that sausage toe was seen in folk with these conditions, and that they were susceptible
to a form of inflammatory illness acknowledged as Psoriatic Arthritis. I had full-fledged skin disease flare-ups often once
I was young, but thought that I had outgrown it.
Well, gratuitous to say, I was in shock and disbelief. I was only 34 years old.I was too young to have inflammatory illness of any kind. I had two small children to care for. I had a husband that I wanted to spend quality time with. I had too galore things I still wanted to accomplish. This could not be happening to me!
Not until 4 long and frustrating months later did I numbers out how this had all started. Over the 4 months, the pain and swollen joints had spread quickly - to the point that several days I could not even as get out of bed. I had developed headaches, brain fog, a lack of concentration, depression, and to my husbands chagrin, no libido. I knew deep down that there had to be another explanation for the symptoms I was experiencing.
Through cognition gained by reading galore books, research on the internet, and a fantastic doctor who attended church with me, I discovered that my problems were yeast related. She recommended that I try eliminating all yeast, molds and fungi from my diet stick with whole, organic foods, take quality supplements and see what would-be happen.
I did and in just 2 months, I was back to my normal, happy, healthy self. And, my toe was back to its normal size.
I have to admit, it was not an easy 2 months. But, I'll tell you why in a minute.
Lori,
I purchased your cookery book because my husband has had a yeast problem for at least 10 years. We tried the yeast free thing way back when, and he had a atrocious time jutting to it because the food, well, there were not a lot of choices.
We have au gratin 4-5 meals with your cookery book and I think this is going to last because he loves the food. We are devising this a life style for us not just a 'diet'.
Give thanks you for all your research. We had the Gumbo formula the 1st night and so far that one is our favorite. Tonight I am devising the Chicken and Potato formula in the Crockpot. Thanks again.

PS - I besides have 4 children, ages 12-22, and they all have enjoyed the recipes.
How did I develop this yeast problem in the 1st place? Well, I believe it all started with my girl coming down with strep throat. The next thing I knew, I had it, too! The doctor aforesaid that I had a severe case and needful a shot of antibiotics, as well as a 10 day prescription. All I wanted was to feel better, so I took the medicine.
Unfortunately, I had a res and bust out in hives. So, to treat the hives the doctor gave me a round of steroids.
Simply just about 2 weeks later, my tooth doctor told me that an old filling needful to be replaced. However, once
he removed the old mercury filling I had not been fitted with the barrier at the back of my mouth that should have been used to support me from ingesting the small bits of metal.
The antibiotics, the steroids and the mercury combined to do my body a breeding ground for out-of-control yeast. And, because of the excessive yeast in my system and the toxins that it produces, on
with the massive amounts of toxins that our bodies take in just from everyday living, I besides developed a large sensitivity to foods that contained yeast, mold and fungi.
So, what's the problem with yeast anyway?
Yeast does a number of chemical compounds which the body picks up and absorbs. To most folks, they may not feel more effect. However, another folk may have more of a sensitivity which shows up through duct yeast infections, diarrhea/constipation and headaches. And then there are the rest of us, whose bodies have a difficult time handling these compounds and toxins. We feel sick, but we can't numbers out why.
Antibiotic is one of the earliest discovered and wide
used antibiotic agents, derived from the Fungus genus mold. Antibiotics are natural substances that are discharged by bacterium and fungi into their environment, as a means of inhibiting another organisms - it is chemical warfare on a microscopic scale.
Galore of the chemicals that yeast (mold, fungi) produce are besides ready-made to kill bacteria. If you continue to eat a diet rich in yeast, or foods that yeast have produced, you are taking in a low level of antibacterial drug chemicals, or antibiotics, all the time.
Antibiotics kill bacteria. The problem is that they don't cognize the difference between good bacterium and bad.
Each of us has a certain numbers of good bacterium and yeast in our intestines. Once
we consume antibiotics, whether in the form of prescription drugs, or chemicals and toxins make from our yeast rich diets, we are killing the good bacterium in the gut.
Once
this happens, a space has been provided for the yeast to grow. This creates an imbalance between the good bacteria, or flora, and the yeast. If we continue to eat our yeasty, extremely
refined, candied diet, we provide just the food that the yeast inevitably to grow at rapid speed.
Once
the yeast grows it takes up the space meant for the good bacteria. Then the imbalance gets worse instead of better. The good bacterium are not able to restore itself.
The yeast wish continue to grow and can eventually stretch the gut (can you image what bread dough looks like once
its rising!) which allows undigested food and toxins to leak out into the body. This condition is called "leaky gut syndrome" and brings a whole host of problems and symptoms on
with it, including headaches, joint pain and swelling, and lots more.
A person who has excess amounts of yeasts, which is besides fungi, in his system wish produce alcohol-like substances that get into the blood stream and intoxicate the brain. Thus, brain fog, memory problems, lack of concentration, and attention disorders can occur.
In fact, a person who is allergic to yeast can have galore of the same problems that an alcoholic can have including an overwhelming desire
and desire - an addiction - to yeast containing foods and high sugar foods that feed the yeast.
For several folks, just feeding vinegar, which is make by yeast and fermentation, can be intoxicating if they are sensitive to yeasts. They may feel as if they have had a glass of wine and can experience a "hangover"the next morning.
Alcoholics could actually be folk with severe yeast sensitivities that are alcohol-dependent to yeast. If the addiction can be stopped-up and the yeast and flora rebalanced, an alcoholic may lose the need to drink and thus overcome the dependency of alcohol.
More and More research is being done just about yeast, and another food allergies and intolerance's.And, more and more symptoms are being identified.Symptoms that for years were attributed to another causes.Eliminating Yeasty foods wish improve your health and could lessen or even as eliminate several or all of these symptoms and diseases:
...and more are being accessorial all the time!
The list seems to grow daily with the more research that is done. And, you'll lose weight and feel great.
Imagine your child's unfit
symptoms diminishing, or not pain all over once
you get out of bed in the morning, or your partner being able to think more clearly. How fantastic would-be it be to actually feel great after every meal?
Sound too good to be true? Well, it isn't if you have the right tools and resources.
Lori,
I tried the Chicken Fajita formula for our Super Bowl party and it was a hit! I look forward to trying more recipes.

I mentioned earlier that the 2 months that it took me to recover were not easy.In fact, they were down right difficult.I had a big "Pity Party!"(That's a Southern term for feeling really, really, actually sorry for myself :)
You see, back 7 years ago, Organic foods were not as promptly accessible in your local grocery stores as they are now. And, most recipes that I found in allergic reaction cookbooks my kids would-be not touch ‚ and I didn't blame them ‚ YUK!
Another so called "healthy"cookbooks and websites had recipes loaded with artificial sweeteners, tons of cheese (which is a mold), items with change and partly change oils, and the list goes on.
So, my resolution was just to finish eating, because it was too hard to numbers out what to eat.I didn't feel good enough to bother with cookery anyway. It was just too more hassle.Sure, I lost a lot of weight, but I felt atrocious and had zero energy. And, I wasn't giving my body enough fuel to cleanse and repair itself.
The more I thought just about the list of foods that I was to avoid, the more I thought‚
Which is how the name "Cooking What's Left"came to be! I distinct that there had to be healthy food that tasted good that was easy to prepare. I just had to find it, or if I couldn't find it‚ I would-be create it.
I knowing through trial and error just about great substitutes for wheat, another protein
grains, eggs, dairy farm and another allergens. And, trust me there was plenty of error.Just ask the birds in my back yard who got to eat all of that "error." Lucky for them they weren't picky!
Lori,
The humus was delicious. The balmy were good, too.
I had the chili tonight and just compete about with quantities. Really yummy.
My favorite so far is the apple crisp as it is the nearest thing to sweet I have had.
Thanks,
Jennifer Blatto-Vallee
