My eBook is 50 pages long and teaches you step-by-step how to correctly photograph a neighborhood, how to organize the images, and how to prepare them for printing. Believe me there is a LOT of information that you need to know to do this properly. Some of the topics include:
- How to photograph the homes so you can easily identify the correct address of each home
- What you should wear when you walk a neighborhood
- How to create the files you will need to print the postcards
- Optional equipment that I highly recommend
- The three most important rules that must be followed when photographing
- How to prepare for photographing a neighborhood
- How to organize the images in your computer - this is very important! If you do not properly organize your computer files you'll be in trouble from the start. I have eight external hard drives that contain all of my photographs, and all images are neatly organized and easily accessible. I'll show you how I do it.
- What you should expect from homeowners when they see you photographing their home
Do I need any special software or other materials to make this work?
You will need:
- Adobe Photoshop. You will need Photoshop to manage the images and organize them into a printable format designed specifically for a postcard.
- A digital camera and several memory cards. I recommend a 6 megapixel camera at the minimum. An adjustable, wide-angle lens is also recommended. The camera I use is a Canon 20D with a 17-40mm Canon lens. You can certainly accomplish the same result with a less expensive camera.
- Adobe Acrobat
- A DVD burner to backup your data and to create printable files for your printer. You can certainly do this with a CD burner, but you will have to burn more CDs to make it work.
- A computer. The better the computer, the easier it will be for you.
