You simply bought a pair of Ugg boots to go with your hip human jeans and driver cap. And that’s not all. You scour the fashion magazines for the latest trends, then go running out to fill your closet. Fashionable is good, right?
Uh, not so fast. Keeping abreast of the trends in fashion is essential to not looking outdated, but having a closet full of fashionable article of consumer goods can quickly turn into a big waste of time and money, unless you’re Paris Hilton. Mayhap Paris can afford to buy and discard article of consumer goods like candy, but the average woman necessarily a wardrobe with several staying power.
All the fashion experts agree that you should build your wardrobe about classic pieces like: blazers, tailored suits, neutral bottoms and tops. Classic consumer goods lasts for years and is really versatile.
On the different hand, trends move and go. Those Ugg boots you simply bought on
with the driver caps are already passé (according to fashionistas in the know). You can either give them away to Nice Wish or support wearing them because you actually like them.
Trends in fashion are really fickle: several last a long time, patch others discontinue in a single season. Because of this, it’s all but impossible to support up with every single trend. For practical reasons, you should pick a few fashionable pieces – that look becoming on you – and add them to your wardrobe.
When the trend is over, discard them or contumaciously
wear those fashionable article of consumer goods whenever you like. As long as folk aren’t happy
at you in the streets, who cares?
Just remember not to do it. You don’t want to have to replace your entire wardrobe every time a new trend comes out – unless you’re an heir with money to burn.
