Decorating with Vintage Magazine Ads
I have detected
a trend in decorating that I had no idea existed. It seems that many a folk are mistreatment vintage magazine ads as house decorations.
For example, if you have a house bar, you may be interested in framing several old Ballantines ale or Jack Daniels ads.
If your 1st car was a 1969 Chevelle, you may want to frame a vintage Chevrolet ad.
Colorful full page ads seem to spark the most interest tho'
I have seen several actually classic black and white ads. These ads from days gone by contain several truly classic looks that you simply don’t see today.
More than the classic looks, they provide a glimpse into a several time as well as how society viewed the world. For example, many a of the butt ads from the 1940’s – 1950’s feature prominent actors, actresses and sports figures. This is thing
you would-be ne'er
see in today’s “PC” world.
At the different end of the spectrum, many a of these past ads portray American life at home. Families consumption meals together, traveling together and well….just plain being together.
This trend lead me to start aggregation and eventually commerce these classic ads. Since creating my online store http://stores.ebay.com/A-Blast-From-the-Past-and-More I have detected
several actually great ideas. The latest was a consumer
that was going to wallpaper their bathroom with vintage soap and perfume ads. Truly creative!
