It all started with dumb luck. My wife, our three kids, and myself were living on a whopping $1000 per month. It was barely enough to cover the cost of diapers. Something had to be done and it had to be done fast.
After scouring the internet for a product that could be sold with a decent profit margin, I found something that I thought might work. I contacted the company and began selling their products online through Ebay. The benefit of using Ebay was that they already had people that were searching for what I was selling.
The problem with Ebay is that they charge you gigantic fees and I decided that I didn't want to pay them more of my hard earned money.
Our website was ready within a few days (and it was beyond ugly). Once the site went live, I sat back and waited for the orders to start pouring in.
Needless to say, they didn't come.
The next step was to start figuring out where to find my customers and how to get them to my website. Thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours were wasted trying to figure out how it's done.
