Julian Steward's "Some Shoshoni Myths" contains mythology collected during his field work in Nevada and Eastern California in 1935. This great little book was originally published by the United States Printing Office in 1943.
An interesting aspect of this book is that it often presents variations of a myth from the perspective of different bands of Shoshone. For example, :The Theft of Pine Nuts" is here in versions from the Shoshone of Saline Valley, CA, from the Shoshone of Elko, NV, and from the Shoshone of Winnemucca, NV.
In all, 34 myths of the Shoshone, Paiute, and Gosiute are presented, including a nice selection of Shoshone origin myths. Highly recommended!
