After the birth of our first child, my husband and I realized how precious our memories are.
We realized we didn't want to ever forget her birth... my pregnancy... or any of our early memories.
I've never been a very creative type... so when I first heard of scrapbooking I have to admit I was a little intimidated.
But I decided to give it a try anyways.
How I became a scrap-booking pro!
Actually, I'm not a scrap-booking pro, but my family and friends think I am.
I can't blame them, because I have dozens of scrapbooks now all over my house that I'll cherish forever... and will keep our most precious memories recorded for generations.
It wasn't always like this though, here's how it happened:
I really decided I was going to figure this scrapbooking thing out...so I started studying.
I read everything I could find on the internet (a good place to start).
I got some magazines, some books, and talked to people who had made scrapbooks before. Here's what I found out...
It's Easier Than You Think!
Turns out scrapbooking is not complicated once you know a few basics.
The problem is, there's so much information about scrapbooking now, that it's easy to get lost in it all.
And most of the websites on the internet just tell you about lots of different themes and layouts.
The magazines are even worse because they're so full of advertisements that you hardly get to see how they made any of the projects...
But you don't need to know a lot of technical things, be an artist, or know 1,000 different themes and layouts.
That's the big secret.
In fact, what I discovered was that you only need to know a few different themes and basic layouts... and a couple "insider" tricks and tactics to putting together your first scrapbook...
And after that first one, it gets much easier!
Here's the problem...
There's No Simple Guide
I searched an searched for a good simple guide to getting started with scrapbooking.
You know, a booklet that was low on fluff and just tells me what I need to know about getting started.
I don't want to know 1,000 different layouts and themes... or spend a ton of money on products I don't really need to get started.
I just want to know...what are the basic tips that people who have been scrapbooking for years know... that would make it easy to get started making beautiful scrapbooks.
Just teach me those tips, was what I was thinking.
I couldn't find such a booklet.
So I compiled all my research, and had one created!
