How this eBook came about
I have been using the principles in this eBook and the accompanying spreadsheet for at least twenty years. I developed it when I needed to keep track of my expenses...it's that simple. Over the years, I refined it here and there, but it's basically the same concept that I started out with.
Over the years, I would mention my quick and easy personal budget planning spreadsheet to a few friends or business acquaintances. Without exception, they commented that this information was something people really needed to know. Our schools do not train us for some of these practical skills, and our parents may not have explained how to develop and keep a budget. In some cases, people thought that having to develop a budget meant that they were failures at managing their money! No, no, no!
Developing and maintaining a budget is a responsible way to be organized! As things change, you can update your budget to reflect those changes. Maybe you stop renting an apartment and buy a house...just update the personal budget form to reflect your new house-related expenses, such as property taxes and mortgage payments. Quick and easy personal budget planning is possible!
This Quick and Easy Personal Budget Planning eBook and personal budget form spreadsheet file were packaged to help you...help you to get organized and change your life. Things may be much better than you think they are! Knowledge is power, and knowing you're the details of your budget allows you to make sound decisions.
What is different about this eBook
Perhaps you've seen other eBooks or forms that you can fill out and add up. There are probably many available on the Internet. So, what's different about this product?
When you purchase this product, you receive a zipped file with three items: an eBook in PDF format and two spreadsheet files (in Microsoft Excel 97-2003 format). One of the spreadsheet files is a SAMPLE personal budget that is already filled out so that you can see what the end result will look like. The other spreadsheet file is a blank TEMPLATE file that you will use to create your personal budget.
This product is a "do-it-yourself" project...you are given the necessary tools to read and use to develop your own personal budget. While developing your personal budget you may have one or two questions...
ALSO...if you find that you have questions or problems as you complete your personal budget form, the final chapter in the book gives you an email address where you can contact me with your questions. I will respond and help you to work through any questions you have about how to complete your personal budget form.
I won't develop your personal budget for you...that is your responsibility. I am here to answer a question or two that you may have during the process of quick and easy personal budget planning.
What this eBook does not do
This eBook is not going to give you investment or retirement advice. There are other sources that you can find that will be able to assist you with those particular needs.
This eBook is specifically designed to help you complete a personal budget form so that you know your income (and when you receive it) and your expenses (and when they are due).
The chapters in this eBook
Here is the Table of Contents for this eBook: - Chapter 1: The Personal Budget Form
- Chapter 2: Money, Money, Money (Preparing the Income Section)
- Chapter 3: Bills, Bills, Bills (Preparing the Expense Section)
- Chapter 4: Comparing Income and Expenses

Chapters 2 and 3 contain detailed information about the types of income and expenses you may have, where to find out the details for your personal situation, and how to enter the information in the personal budget form. This information is very important, since not every expense is due on a monthly basis, and these sections tell you how to reflect this correctly. More... |
