Dear Reader,
I don't want to waste your time, so:
if you're after a run-of-the-mill public speaking course, then this isn't for you.
Otherwise, read on.
I've designed Presenting Power to be different because I wanted it to be highly effective.
I'm not going to tell you how to stand or what to do with your hands while speaking.
I'm not going to give you breathing exercises or insist you use PowerPoint.
You will have other things to think about while you're speaking so why add more? That would be insane.
It can become much easier instead.
A quick look inside Presenting Power:
- Never forget your words again. Just remember these 2 things (pge 13-14)
- 2 simple techniques that will banish your fear - forever. (pge 62-66)
- How to use past failures to create future success. (pge 73)
- The 3 simple rules for creating a great speech. (pge 13-18)
- The 7 secrets of effective communication (pge 84)
- The CMR technique - program yourself for success. (pge 31)
What is Presenting Power all about? You may have noticed that great speakers and presenters have a sort of power.
Partly, it's about how great speakers think about things differently.
How do they do that?
Imagine for a moment that you are looking forward to something - something that you know is important and fun.
There are other times when you've felt like that, haven't you? Some times more strongly than others.
Part of the pleasure of the things you look forward to is the anticipation - where you can start to get ready to enjoy something that hasn't happened just yet.
And you know it will happen soon, so you can allow yourself to become aware of your sense of anticipation while it builds.
And the great thing about anticipation is that you can feel good about something just by thinking about it.
That is what it feels like when you have presenting power and are looking forward to a speech or presentation.
Compare this to how you would feel just before a presentation right now. I don't know exactly how bad that can be for you, though I can imagine you might feel quite anxious. Many people do.
If you had the choice, which one would you choose? If you could make that choice, it's easy to understand how thinking like that can make people into great speakers.
And it's an easy choice to make once you understand the difference between these two options.
How would your life be different if you could draw upon that ability, that deep sense of personal power? What will being a more confident speaker and communicator do for you?
How many things in your life would change for the better? What will other people think when they see you being a confident speaker?
I know that it's important to take the time to think this through and explore all your options.
Think about this too: Power is defined as "possession of control, authority, or influence over others".
Being a confident speaker can give you that power - it's an essential leadership skill.
It's a fact of life that when some people speak, everyone else listens.
Do you want to be a listener or a speaker? A follower or a leader?
If you could just choose, what role would you prefer?
If being a more confident speaker could give you that choice, wouldn't you take it?
Presenting Power is designed to allow you to make the right choice.
You can be a leader.
You can be a speaker.
You can have all of the benefits of being a confident speaker.
You can choose the better option, and look forward to speaking with that sense of anticipation. More... |
