Ok. I can see the benefits. What's the downside? There's always a downside!

This is not a "get rich quick" method to marketing your company, or to earning a living. You will need to photograph the homes, and you will need to organize them and put them into a printable format so your printer can print them.

I can photograph and organize 100 homes in a little over 4 hours work. But that's me. I estimate it will take you much longer to do what I do. However, if you're smart, you won't bother trying to photograph the homes or do the computer work yourself; you'll hire someone to do it. With my book, you can directly show an experienced computer-user or photogarpher how to do things properly while you focus on other aspects of the business.

But let's say you want to do the work yourself. If the neighborhood you want to photograph is 500 homes, I estimate it will take you 40 hours of work before you can finally mail your first postcard. That's 8 hours work per 100 homes, and that's reality. The good news is you can do this part time. Not too mention, once you have the photographs organized in your computer, you can prepare them with new artwork whenever you want because the hard work is already done. It takes me about one hour to prepare 1,000 images with completely new artwork. After the artwork is done, I simply take the digital files to the printer. From there, I go to the bulk mailing post office and get the postcards in the mail.

I work full time. Can I do this on the weekends or in the evening?

You can do the computer work anytime. But I highly advise against photographing on the weekends or in the evenings. The best time to photograph is on a weekday, between 10am and 2pm. If you have obligations that prevent you from photographing during those times, I suggest you hire someone to take the photographs for you.

Are there some neighborhoods that can't be photographed?

I don't recommend photographing gated communities. Although it can be done, you will need to get permission from the Homeowner's Association. For me, it's not worth my time. I will only photograph neighborhoods that have public access to them, and there are plenty of those everywhere. I also avoid any neighborhood where I do not feel safe. I walk around with a $2,000 camera on my neck. Last thing I want is to get mugged or otherwise robbed. Call it arrogance, call it what you want, but I don't bother with dangerous neighborhoods or gated communities. I don't need to. There's plenty of work elsewhere.

How hard is it to learn how to photograph the homes and make postcards out of them?

The most important thing you have discovered by reading this page is this: you have now learned about a successful, proven, business idea. What are you going to do with that knowledge? Remember, successful businesses are not created because of technical skills. They are created because of imagination and ideas. You have a tremendous opportunity here to develop a real business and be the first in your city to do it. My book is like a roadmap to a proven, profitable business. After you purchase my book, the only thing left for you to do is take action and begin the process of photographing your first neighborhood.

If you don't know how to photograph or work a computer, don't worry; those skillsets are easy to come by. Don't believe me? Just look in the yellow pages. There are plenty of people waiting for you to call them who already know how to photograph or work a computer. In fact, if you don't know how to photograph or use a computer, you're probably better off because you will focus on developing the business while you hire professionals to take care of the monotonous work.

This business model will work for anyone. The instructions in my book can be easily learned by your photographer. There is a right way and a wrong way to do things when photographing a neighborhood. My book teaches the proper way. This is also true when it comes to the computer work. There is a certain method and order in which I organize my images that makes it very simple to print them over and over again with completely different artwork each time.

Ok. So I can hire people to do the work for me. But what if I want to do the work myself? How hard is it to learn how to photograph the homes and make postcards out of them?

If you purchase my eBook, it will be relatively easy, and you can avoid many of the pitfalls that I experienced. It took me a year and a half to develop this system, and now I'm offering everything I know in one eBook that you could be reading in just a few minutes from now. Within the next few days you could begin photographing, and within a week or two you could potentially mail out your first flyer to several hundred or possibly several thousand homes. This flyer can be used to market your own company, or you could sell advertising space to local businesses.

You need to realize how lucky you are are to be reading this page. Chances are extremely high that you are the first person in your town to even know such a marketing tool exists. I have eight external hard drives that contain all of my photographs, and all images are neatly organized and easily accessible. I'll show you how I do it.
  • How to create the files you will need to print the postcards

Do I need any special software or other materials to make this work?

You will need:

  • A digital camera and several memory cards. I recommend a 6 megapixel camera at the minimum. An adjustable, wide-angle lens is also recommended. The camera I use is a Canon 20D with a 17-40mm Canon lens. You can certainly accomplish the same result with a less expensive camera.
  • A computer. The better the computer, the easier it will be for you.
  • Adobe Photoshop. You will need Photoshop to manage the images and organize them into a printable format designed specifically for a postcard.
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • A DVD burner to backup your data and to create printable files for your printer. You can certainly do this with a CD burner, but you will have to burn more CDs to make it work.

What if I don't have those items? Can I hire someone to do this work for me?

Any competent graphics designer can easily handle the organization of the images once they know how to do it. And you can certainly hire a photographer to take the photos, although I recommend that whoever you hire strictly follows my photography guidelines that are outlined in the eBook.

If you are not comfortable with any part of the process, you can defintely sub-out the work.

Why would you sell this information?

I am based in Orange County, CA. And even if I wanted to, it would take years and years for me to photograph even a small percentage of the homes in Orange County. In short, there is simply too much work available for me to handle. I have already made a ton of money from this, and I figure it's time for me to share what I learned with others. There are people out there who will read this page (such as yourself) who could easily establish a viable business with this marketing tool. They could better their own life, and the life of their family. They could use the money they earn to buy a new car, or even buy a new home. They could put their kids through college, or even put themselves through college. The amount of money a person could make with this tool is limited only by their imagination. There are people out there who, upon learning my techniques, will probably take what I've learned and develop a company with hundreds of employees and start photographing all over the United States. I would love to see that happen, especially since I have no interest in owning or operating a large scale company. I have several photographers who work for me, and that's as big as I'd like my company to get.
