E-book Category: Poetry E-book Title: My Secret Landscape Author: Kelly Kenrick Book Description: I have a very strong affinity for nature and the power of landscape and have tried to incorporate that feeling into my poetry. I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Scotland in the last few years and fell in love with the Isle of Skye from which resulted several poems. This traveling also awakened my own ancestral ties to the country. Other poems come from early reactions to the world around me. Some were written 'on demand' in school for Legion contests, which made me aware of war and conflicts between societies, which has shaped my thinking throughout the years. Still other poems reflect my need to make sense of not only myself, but the society I live in, interact with and hear about through the media and personal interaction. Not all the interactions and viewpoints are positive, but then again that's where the conflicts in society arise. I have tried to lighten that by adding a few lighthearted or whimsical poems.
