After writing this book, I discovered there are as many people suffering neck pain as there are back pain sufferers and many suffer both!

What are the causes for back pain?

Very few medical or healthcare professionals are aware of, neither do they address, the real causes for back pain. Most of them only try to relieve the pain, be it with drugs, manipulation, surgery or some other back pain solutions (in other words treating the symptoms rather than the cause). All of it are just stopgap measures.

The reason you have back pain is because there is a dysfunction in the 3 basic movements of your back. The cause of that is what should be addressed.

As I have said before our backs need the 3 movement functions to remain healthy:

ROTATION,SIDE-TO-SIDE BENDING AND FORWARD/BACKWARD MOVEMENT

Any limitations in any of these functions WILL result in pain. In order to ensure proper movement in those 3 directions the following must be correct and be in balance.

SYMMETRY, ELASTICITY, SPINAL SUPPORT STRENGTH

Stretches and exercise for back pain. Will it help?
This is a question that many people ask me. Unfortunately the answer is not a simple yes or no. I get questions like these almost daily:
  • What stretches for sciatica can I do?
  • Can you show me some back toning exercises?
  • What are the best lower back workouts?
  • What is the best back workout?
  • Can you show me some back strength exercises?
  • What are good stretching exercises?
  • What exercises for low back pain can I do?
  • Can you show me some back stretching exercises?
  • Can you show me some lower back pain exercise?
  • Can you show me an exercise for back pain?

Just doing a few stretches and exercises and expect that is the end of your problems is wishful thinking. However many medical or healthcare professionals would want you to believe that. You must have seen those ... they are usually on a photocopied sheet of paper which they give you when you go see a doctor, chiropractor or physical therapist or which you can download for free from some sites on the Internet.

I am sure you know what I'm talking about, they go something like this... hamstring stretch, pelvic tilt, part or full sit-ups, curl your back, hip extensions etc.

My question to you is; Did you do those? Did it cure or relieve your back pain?
It's NO Surprise Those Exercises Don't Work...
There are 4 basic problems with those what I like to call professional-photocopied-sheet-of-paper-exercises-for-back-pain

Problem number 1 - those exercises do not restore

SYMMETRY, ELASTICITY, SPINAL SUPPORT STRENGTH to ensure the 3 vital movement functions:
ROTATION,SIDE-TO-SIDE BENDING AND FORWARD/BACKWARD MOVEMENT

Problem number 2 - those exercises do not give you

CORRECT SEQUENCE OR BALANCE BETWEEN STRECHES AND EXCERCISES

Problem number 3 - those exercises do not recognise

CORRECT TIME TO DO STRECHES AND EXERCISES

Problem number 4 - those exercises could potentially

DAMAGE YOUR BACK EVEN FURTHER - CAUSING MORE PAIN

But to get back to the question. Can stretches and exercises for back pain help to relieve and cure me from the pain?

The answer is yes stretches and exercises will relieve and cure your back pain if you:
  1. do the right stretches and exercises
  2. at the right time
  3. in the right sequence
