My main concern that day was keeping our two children, aged 2 months and 3 years, warm, out of the way and fed. A friend was able to watch them for a few hours and my husband was there to check off the numbers as the boxes went out the door. Even with that help, we were exhausted at the end of the day.
The arrival at our new town and unloading of the boxes was even worse. I had not learned the "last out, first in" rule, so I had no place for the baby. I held her for hours until finally the crib and playpen came off the truck. I hadn't met anyone to watch my 3-year-old, so he was underfoot all day. Most of the day, I held the baby with one arm and hung onto the older one with the other while the movers stepped around us with boxes and furniture.
I learned some lessons with that move and I've collected even more from my own life and from friends. This 50-page ebook is the result.
