My name is Bill Elliott and I have been a Professional with the United States Golf Association (USGA) since 1997. I have over 47 years of golfing experience and in the first thirty years I thought I knew all there was to know about golf clubs.
In those first thirty years I always fought a slice. I was considered a long ball hitter, but I never had the control I desired. In my adult life I carried a 7 handicap, played twice a week in the summer (I lived in Pennsylvania) and practiced once in awhile. But I wanted to play better.
I watched all the commercials on TV, listened to sales people in the golf shops and I even talked with some golf club professionals to learn what the best clubs that were available to help me play better golf. I thought these people were the experts and should be able to help me. Right? Wrong!.
So, in 1992, I got into the golf equipment business. Over the next five years, I personally tested numerous clubs, shafts, heads, and grips with scientific instruments. I was shocked at what I learned and I don't mind telling you that some of what I learned really made me angry. I couldn't believe how uninformed I was.
Yes, there is a difference in golf clubs, a big difference. Yes, they really do affect the way you play golf. That is why I wrote my eBook called "It's All in the Club, The Real Truth about Golf Equipment"
I want to share this knowledge and experience with you. I want you to play better golf too!
I want you to know the secrets the major club manufacturers don't want you to know, I want you to know what the shaft manufacturers don't want you to know and I want to tell you what the professional golfers won't tell you. I am also going to tell you why they won't tell you.
Do you think the touring professionals use the same golf clubs that they advertise? What information do they have access to that you don't? What do they do that you can't do (until now, that is)?
In my book, I don't compare Nike vs. Ping vs. Callaway vs. etc, etc. and try to determine who makes the best clubs and what clubs you should buy. Actually, when you look at all these clubs, there is really nothing to compare. They all do the same thing and what they do will not improve your game without a struggle.
Instead in "It's All in the Club, The Real Truth About Golf Equipment", I am going to tell you about the complexities of each club component; the head, shaft and grip. I am going to tell you about the testing I did and what you need to know before you buy your next set of clubs.
