About the author:
This e-book is written by Aileen Montag, MA/CCC-SLP, a Speech Language Pathologist whose main focus is working with the early intervention and preschool population. Mrs. Montag holds an M.A. from Queens College, Queens, NY and currently practices as a pediatric Speech Language Pathologist/Consultant on Long Island, NY.
This e-book is based on experiences working in the preschool setting and in the home. Working with other professionals such as occupational therapists and psychologists has been invaluable in helping this therapist learn strategies that can help the child in speech therapy. In order to make gains, children need to be able to attend, behave appropriately, and have carryover. The e-book contains strategies for working with articulation, including insight on apraxia and oral motor, working with children who have difficulty attending, and working with language including stimulation, comprehension, and word finding. Helpful information on dealing with behaviors and working with parents is discussed, and handouts for parents are provided. The e-book contains additional information on voice and fluency.
