My name is Bill Beckett and I have been in the entertainment business for over 40 years. During which time I have worked in night clubs, movies and television. My credits include over 175 appearances in TV commercials, including being a spokesperson for Kentucky Fried Chicken in Southern California.
During my career in TV commercials I have seen many children go on to great careers in the acting profession Consequently the parents were able to put the child's earnings away to pay for the future education taking a great burden off their shoulders.
Unfortunately many parents (if not most parents) have not approached the possibility of a television or movie career for their little one the correct way. So many have responded to advertisements in newspapers or magazines that claim to find work for children in the entertainment field, only to find they are continually asked for money for pictures and other so called services. Before you know it you have spent a lot of your hard earned cash and received nothing in return except excuse after excuse.
This is one of the biggest traps parents seem to get caught in when trying to get their children in TV acting, commercials or modeling.
