Dear Friend,
What I'm about to tell you is a little embarrassing... some personal stuff about me that I don't like to think about too much these days...
...but I know other people are facing these kinds of issues right now, so I think it's important just to "get it all out there".
Try as I might, I'll NEVER ever forget the day my son Cody came walking into my bedroom in our very small apartment back in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania -- just 2 short years ago.
I was sitting on my bed, head and my hands, and sobbing...
And yeah, I was not just crying a little -- but full on sobbing out loud.
Scattered around me, on my bed, was a huge stack of overdue bills -- these included 2nd and 3rd notices, notice of intent to disconnect from the Electric company, and notice of intent to repossess my beat up little economy car.
I had been let go from my job as a customer service rep 6 months prior, and we quickly ran through the meager savings that I had managed to stash away over the years.
The bills mounted up FAST.
At first I guess I was in some sort of denial or something -- I refused to allow myself to believe that this was happening to me (and my wonderful son who deserved so much).
I told myself that a new job was just around the corner and that everything would be alright.
But Everything Was NOT Alright -- Truth Is, I Was Broke, Jobless, In Debt, And My Son And I Were About To Get Tossed Out Of Our Home...
This was the hardest thing I had ever experienced in my life.
And my tears... they weren't just for me... sure I was feeling a sorry for myself... but my son Cody -- he deserved so much more than this!
In addition to all my past due bills and the disconnection notices -- I was behind on my rent. And my landlord was threatening to evict us.
And it all came crashing down on me that fateful day.
The strong face I had been putting on for the sake of my son... I just couldn't hold it in anymore and I broke down, feeling absolutely helpless, and like a total failure.
And Cody... well I would have never let him see me like that, but I lost all track of time as I was pouring through those bills and I didn't realize it was already after 3PM, and he would be coming home soon.
But something AMAZING happened...
Something my son said to me when he came into my room... something that changed our lives forever.
"Dad, This Is ALL Just Temporary."
Cody gave me a huge hug and reassured me that we'd be fine in a way that was far beyond his young years.

"Dad, for as long as I can remember you've been talking about doing something on your own. Since this whole job thing isn't working, why don't you just do what you always wanted to do?"
My initial reaction was to tell him how that would not be possible since I had no real experience in anything... nor any money to start up a business of my own.
But... I couldn't bring myself to do it.
I couldn't bring myself to make the normal excuses.
Dammit -- if my 10 year old son could find the courage to be a man, then I could find the courage to try something new for a change!
"The Internet Is STUFFED Full Of Garbage And A Few Other Choice Words I Won't Say Out Loud Right Now...
I decided that the next day I was going to pull myself up, pull it all together, and set out on a new life for me and Cody...
I went to the library to begin my search -- they had free Internet access and since mine had long since been disconnected, it was the only way I was going to find what I was looking for.
So, I got on Google and typed in "work from home" and I bet you can guess what I discovered...

I was at it for 7 straight hours that day, searching, reading, reviewing... and everything I found was just like the last... all just pie in the sky, over promise and under deliver how to guides which assured me they'd make me rich.
I was of course very stingy with what little money I did have, so I was NOT going to blow it on that junk...
