Subject-matter aside, this is a fascinating view of how women were viewed in that post-Victorian, pre-suffrage era of 1910. Apparently, in those times, women
needed to be protected by from unsavory men who would force them into lives of prostitution, and degradation. Women have come a long way, since then !
And it's a good example of writing styles of the times; the verbage, and language, and prose, are nearly alien in this modern world, but it really fun to read; you
cannot help but smile as you read the text, and see the images.
