Book Description: Diabetic Cooking Guide: Essential Guide to Planning, Shopping and Cooking

And Mouth-Watering Recipes That Show You Diabetes Can Not Only Be Beat, But You Can Treat Your Taste Buds While You're Doing It!

Let's face it: Living with diabetes is hard work. It doesn't matter whether you're suffering from Type 1, Type 2, or Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM), the effects of diabetes on your health, diet, and lifestyle can be a real drag. And, yes, I know...that's putting it nicely...it's not easy living with diabetes.

When I was diagnosed with diabetes, I was shocked by my reaction. When I first heard the news, I was filled with fear. I wasn't upset about insulin shots. I wasn't worried by the other health risks (I know, I know...what was I thinking?).

To be honest with you, the thing I feared the most something that might seem silly to healthy people...but, if you're a diabetic, you know exactly what I'm talking about...

I feared never being able to eat my favorite foods ever again.

I loved all kinds of foods that were on the "DO NOT EAT" list my doctor handed me. I cried as I read through the list of no-no's. (Believe me, I've since learned how food should not have been the only thing I was worried about, but at that moment-and for many months after I was first diagnosed-all I could think about was all the food that I could not eat.)

So, I went home and I started living with diabetes...

And, you'll never guess what I did in the meantime...I was so upset about the illness and about all the foods that I couldn't eat that I ate and ate all the foods I could eat...and a ton of it! (And, if you ask my husband, he'd probably say 2 tons of it!)

Before I knew it, I not only had diabetes, but I was overweight, out of shape, and...still upset about the foods I couldn't eat.

My doctors were worried about how quickly I'd gained weight, my poor eating plan, and my lack of exercise. My entire lifestyle had changed for the worse. I tried to follow their advice, but the weight wouldn't come off...so I decided to do a crash diet...

I had my first seizure because I was skipping meals and became hypoglycemic...

My second seizure came when I went on an exercise "binge" and exhausted my body...again a hypoglycemic reaction...

I finally had to come face to face with my illness:
  • I had diabetes, but
  • I wanted to do whatever it takes to live a long, happy, and healthy life.
  • I wanted to be there for my husband and kids.
  • And...I was going to figure out how to eat my favorite foods again!!!

I know it may sound silly, but I needed to eat those foods to prove that I had control over my illness. I would do whatever I had to, but I was going to eat my favorite foods again.

So, what did I do? I learned everything I could about diabetes and health, diet, exercise, lifestyle, and more. I read and researched and asked the experts question after question...

In fact,

I learned so much that my doctors started asking me questions about diabetes.
...how's that for a turnaround?

But I wanted to do more than just learn...I wanted to figure out how I could eat the foods I had always wanted. And, it happened...
  • I was eating my old favorites again...I spent many hours revising my favorite recipes from the past into ones I could eat safely as a diabetic. They tasted even better than I remembered!
  • I learned how the little-talked-about Glycemic Index Diet could allow me to eat more of the things I loved with confidence that I was actually helping my body to heal.
  • I discovered a way to live where I felt healthier, happier, and more active than ever...even than before I had diabetes.
  • I even found a way to quickly and safely lose all the weight I had gained...and then those extra pounds that I'd always wanted to get rid of.

And, now, I can't wait to share everything I learned with you...

Now you can learn the secrets to great diabetic cooking in just minutes thanks to my newly-released book, Diabetic Cooking Guide - your complete guide to the most incredible breakthroughs in diabetic cooking, eating, and lifestyle ever assembled (or, at least I think so :). My Diabetic Cooking Guide has already radically changed the way many people suffering from diabetes think about food, weight loss, lifestyle, and exercise, and I want it to help you, too!

Don't Let Anyone Tell You "NO!"
I Didn't Listen To My Critics...And You Won't Have To Either!

Many people told me that it couldn't be done. Numerous critics asserted that finding a way to eat all the foods I wanted was just not possible. They told me that I couldn't live the quality of life that I had always wanted. They told me that I needed to just accept that I was now ill.

I not only disagreed with my critics, but I created my Diabetic Cooking Guide as a way to show them how wrong they were. This innovative book offers diabetics everywhere a mouth-watering assortment of recipes that will introduce all the benefits of a new diabetic-friendly diet combined with the savor and flavor, zests and zings, and essences and aromas of all your favorite recipes.

Here's just a quick look at what kind of recipes are waiting for you inside my new book:
  • 5 of the most delicious main course dishes you could ever imagine.
  • 3 savory soups that will make your mouth water just reading about them.
  • 3 fresh salads that will make anybody-even those who "don't like salads"-ask for seconds.
  • A host of appetizers, including Onion and Blue Cheese Focaccia and Baked Spinach Balls that will leave all of your guests asking for more.
  • Flakey, delicious breads that will remind you of your favorite bakery.
  • Yummy-in-Your-Tummy jams, jellies, and spreads to top just about anything with a smile.
  • Winning side dishes and vegetables that are surprisingly easy to make, but taste gourmet.
  • Delectable desserts that taste sinfully delicious, including Rich Lemon Pound Cake and the always-popular Raisin Oatmeal Cookies.
  • And, too many more tasty recipes to mention here...
