Book Description:

Welcome!

Summary

The author has detailed his personal involvement in the business of Futures, Options & FOREX trading. This is his personal story of where he came from, how he got to be a net profitable trader through his experience, and what he discovered about the true nature of the markets and reality as he has come to understand it. The book is written under the assumption that the reader has some knowledge or basic understanding of the markets. For the casual observer or reader who has no experience with the markets, the forward sets the stage for that person. The book contains additional explanations throughout to help the uninitiated follow along. For the serious student of the markets, or someone intimately involved in trading, the author believes he will fully understand this experience and find value he can apply to his own trading.

The author makes it very clear this is not a "how to" book on trading and also believes that any person looking for additional "tools" to improve his trading only will find little value in his work. The author takes the point of view that the markets and the business of trading is much more than simply "making money". Without the reader feeling the same the author feels he has nothing new to add to the common store of trading knowledge available in print today. The final version is an "easy read". It contains the author's common sense and sense of humor. It is the author's intention to make a difficult subject simple to understand. Also, to communicate his experience on an everyday level. The book is not in any chronological order but is in more of an "I finally got his point when" order. Everything within relates to a whole picture the reader is encouraged to paint for himself.

Outline of Dancing With Lions

Forward

Details the arena of trading and why the author has chosen to publish his work under a pseudonym.

Introduction

(Self-Explanatory)

The Early Years

Provides the reader with the starting point to the author's story. Describes in modest detail how he came to be confronted with the reality of his initial failure to trade profitably. He details the nature of his frustration about the conditions of trading as he was exposed to them.

The Day I Bought the Low

Describes in detail the "epiphany" of understanding that occurred to the author. The reader is encouraged to assume the author's new point of view as well. The author then describes how this new reality opened his understanding to price action and influenced his understanding of the markets.

Technical Analysis

The author's critical discussion and comparison of his understanding of the true nature of trading and the failure of industry accepted standards to assist the trader in the pursuit of profits. The author details his case and gives insight into his method of interpreting price action that he believes has enabled him to pursue consistent profits. Critical detail is provided for the serious student of trading.

Adversity

The author describes in modest detail his day-to-day experience of existing and working side-by-side with those that both participate in and support the trading business. He outlines his constant frustration with these market elements and how he learned to exploit this environment to his ultimate advantage. The chapter ends with his final adversity and how he overcome it to become a permanent success at trading.

The Meaning of Life

The author provides additional detail how, for himself personally, he discovered the unexpected benefits of his new market reality that has allowed him to improve his quality of life beyond anything he had hoped for. He describes how this new reality is self-evident in the process of trading and is, in fact, created by those who participate on every level.

The Trading Police

The author suggests that the very nature of the market environment is directly and negatively influenced by government, regulators, and overseers. He details his personal experience with these market elements and the inequality they create, as well as how he came to exploit this to his advantage. He provides insight to anyone involved in trading on how to use this knowledge to improve his market presence.

The Last Word

The author relates very briefly one last story from his education process. He describes an experience of how the reality of inflicting losses on others dramatically effected his view of the market participants he competes with. He has a final thought for the loser who is inevitably going to be there.

Conclusion

(Self-Explanatory)

Appendix "A" - For Trader's Only

The author attempts to put certain well-known trading maxims into the point of view of his new reality to help the reader see a different way of following the basics. He makes this clear that this is not "new", only his point of view on it. He also uses his strong sense of humor when communicating to the reader who trades for himself will come to understand what ignoring these maxims can mean.

Appendix "B" - About the Author

An intimate portrait of the author, his beliefs, activities and point of view. This is done through the eyes of a third party who has assisted the author with the completion of his manuscript.
