John's Story John came to see us with a chronic back pain problem, which he had suffered from for seven or eight years. He had galore difficulties but one of the biggest was mowing the lawn. He felt he had to do the field
and get it done.
Once
he did the field
it started to do his pain worse after simply about 10 to 15 minutes, but he unbroken
on going for an hour until the job was finished. "Once you start a job", he thought, "you have to finish it, don't you?"
After he finishes the lawn, John's pain is already at a high level. As the hours go on after the field
mowing, John finds that his pain gets worse and worse, until he is forced to finish activity and rest.
For the rest of the day, and the two days following, the pain is severe and John is forced to cut back and do really little. He bit by bit gets better, with lots of painkillers, over a few days until he's back to normal for him.
Then what happens? Yes, he makes it all over again!
