For most people, buying or selling an automobile is the second largest financial transaction you will ever make. Your home is probably the largest. Would you ever dream of buying or selling a home without the guidance and experience of a professional real estate agent?
Of course not...
So why would you do any less when it comes to selling your vehicle? My new book, The Car Selling Guide will teach you to walk and talk just like a professional car salesman. I cover all the Do's and Dont's and use many of my real life experiences to walk you through the process successfully.
I am going to make the entire process EASY for you with a complete step-by-step guide to selling a USED vehicle: from writing a winning ad to how to handle a total stranger test-driving your car.
Here are a few of the topics I cover...
Do your homework on how to place a value on your car.
How much should you ask for your car? How much should you be willing to accept? Since no two used cars are identical, you'll have to arrive at the right price for your car. I will show you how - in almost no time at all - to gather all the pricing information you'll need.
You will learn how to "Advertise for Results."
We will look at sample ads and discover why they are a waste of money! We will rewrite those ads to generate more responses than a seller can handle. You will learn which words to use in your copy and the ones to never use.
I will show you the 10 things to NEVER put in your vehicle ad.
Sometimes people go a bit overboard in writing their ads. It's fine to be friendly and even a bit casual. However there are some things you NEVER want in your ad.
I will show you how to advertise your vehicle to millions of buyers for FREE using my "On-line Advertising Steps."
It doesn't matter how cool your car is if you can't get the buyer to click on your ad. We cover the proper format for winning ads such as: Title, Features and Benefits.
What to do when the phone rings.
OK. Your car is ready to sell! You've placed your ads. What's next? What questions will the prospective buyers ask and what is the right way to answer them? We look at all the touchy questions and prepare you with the best responses. Oh, and don't forget all the negotiation tactics with which I will arm you-these will make the difference between "settling" and getting what you really want, and deserve, for your used car.
The Test Drive...
"Hi, I'm a complete stranger. I want you to hand me $10,000. I'm going to take it for 15 or 20 minutes and I promise to return the full amount." Sounds pretty crazy, doesn't it? Well, that's exactly what happens whenever you allow people to take your car for a test drive. You're handing off one of your most valuable possessions and allowing it to be driven away.
Use my tips to protect yourself and your property when it comes to letting strangers drive your car.
Negotiating...
"Is this your best price?"
"I like the car but..."
"I want my mechanic to look it over..."
"Would you accept... ?"
"Take it or leave it."
These are just a few of the openers you will hear from prospective buyers. How do you handle these and other questions when you are face to face with a stranger who has an interest in your vehicle? I cover how to respond to most every one of the buyers opening lines when it comes down to finalizing the sale.
Knowing how to address any one of these comments could make you an extra $500 - $1000.
(Page 103) - For Women Only - If you are uncomfortable with the thought of strangers coming to your home to look at a vehicle you need to sell, you need to read this section.
I will tell you how to get a FREE engine analysis before you put your vehicle up for sale!
If your car is not running properly and is a 1996 or newer model, I will show you how to get a FREE diagnostic check. It takes just a few minutes and you will be given the Â"fault codesÂ" that will tell you just what your car needs to be ready to sell for top dollar.
You will learn "Insider Secrets" that the dealers use to sell their used inventory for much more than private sellers typically make!
Use my Vehicle Bill of Sale on page 107.
Generally, when you buy or sell a car in the U.S, you'll need a "Car Bill of Sale Form" for the Department of Motor Vehicles to help you transfer ownership. You can use my FREE form that is acceptable in all 50 states.More... |
