I discovered a simple technique that transformed a totally dead battery into a like new performing battery that tested at 100% of it's charge capacity.
First, let me go back and set the background for you. I am a certified electronic technician in the biomedical and industrial fields. I worked in the research department of a company that developed pacemakers and implantable defibrillators.
I've also worked at NASA and I've worked at Texas Instruments. I've had 15 years experience in the electronics and electrical fields. So I know a little theory - to be modest. I'm a geek by most people's standards.
So I decided that what I really needed to do is work for myself so that there is no limit to how much money I can make. That's when I started my internet business. I started selling Bosch and Skil tools on the internet. And I noticed that there was a large market for batteries.
Rechargeable batteries allow the user to be free from cords that restrain and limit them to move around. More importantly, they allow the user to operate in remote locations where there are no power outlets.
We live in an increasingly more portable society. Everything is going cordless, cell phones, power tools, iPods, Blackberries just to name a few. And all these cordless devices need rechargeable batteries.
As I'm sure you already know, rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan. There are only so many times that you can charge, use and recharge them. Often times the battery can burn out the charger and people just think that the charger is bad only to find out when they get another charger that the battery burned that one out too.
This caused me considerable frustration. I was replacing alot of free chargers but I also was able to convince some to upgrade to a smart charger. Why? Because first of all, a smart charger will not burn out. It senses the temperature inside the battery and stops charging when it reaches a certain threshold.
Secondly, the smart charger will extend the life of the battery. How? Because it stops charging when the battery reaches a full charge. Whereas, the standard charger continues to charge the battery after it reaches a full charge.
This over-charges the battery and reduces the the life span of the battery. This is particularly noticeable for those that like to always keep their battery on a charger when not in use.
I was in my home office testing and reconditioning batteries for my customers when I discovered this one technique that zaps a non-responsive battery into operation.
So I had a battery that was dead and had no voltage output. I was about to tell the customer that there was no hope for this battery.
Then I figured that I had nothing to lose and that this battery would be a good candidate for testing my rejuvenation procedure.
Dramatically, it went from a totally dead battery to operating at 100% of it's full charge capacity.
Regarding lead acid batteries, right now every automobile needs a rechargeable battery, lead acid batteries, and if you can let your customers know that you can save them about 50% of the cost of a new battery and provide a warranty that proves that their battery will last a couple of years (most new batteries have 3 year warranties) ... it's a win-win situation ... a no brainer.
However, the future holds much, much greater opportunities to cash in ... as oil becomes more scarce and the price continues to increase, more and more people will buy and therefore the automobile companies will be manufacturing more energy efficient automobiles.
Many experts believe that these more energy efficient vehicles will be diesel / electric hybrids. Because of the increased efficiency and cleanliness of the diesel engine combined with the energy efficient / non-polluting electric motor ...
... And these hybrids will need rechargeable batteries ... The market will be huge!
Note: The demands on the government to legislate more energy efficient vehicles for the sake of the environment will only increase the conversion to diesel / electric hybrids in the near future.

- Battery Load Tester - very simple to use. Can be found about $30.
- Battery Hydrometer - very simple to learn. Can be purchased at your local auto parts store for $5 - $10.
- Test Cables - Can be purchased at your local wholesale battery supply company. $10- $20.
- Personal Protective Equipment which includes a face splash shield, chemical apron and gloves for handling battery acid. This stuff doesn't cost that much but is necessary for handling acid. $10 - $20.
I'm not going to tell you that there is no investment in equipment here but you can get everything that you will need to start up your very own highly profitable battery reconditioning business.
