The following are some comments about this true story. All illustrations and personal photos in the ebook are in COLOR. You are able to print the book out yourself in black and white or in color, if you have a color printer.
I had 2 operations, the first to remove a brain tumor from the back of my head (it's technical name is JPA or Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma), and the doctor decided I had a diagnosis called hydrocephalus, or "water on the brain". I had a plastic tube, called a "shunt" installed in my body to remove the excess CSF (Cerebro Spinal Fluid) from my brain area. This "shunt" was removed from me in February of 2006.
God is the only one who knows the future, that is not our job. He just wants us to live and let Him take care of the details that may happen tomorrow. If I would have known in 2004 that I would have major head surgery in 2005, I would have tried to avoid this.
God did provide for all of our needs. The doctor bills and related costs totalled around $150,000! The Lord provided for them all! I did not know how these bills would be paid. If someone else had all these bills I would say, "Sure, God can meet all these need". Personally seeing these bills taken care of is very different. I am the one responsible to pay this, and it was taken care of. That is another miracle! I was operated on by a neurosurgeon which is supposed to be the most expensive surgeon around! I was taken to a private hospital and had a private room in ICU. About a year earlier, my parents moved next door to an outspoken lady who they found out later worked in the financial department of the private hospital I was in. At that time it wasn't known what lay in the future. During a conversation in late 2005, the subject of my surgery came up, this neighbor gave my parents the name of the head of the financial department, I sent this man a letter explaining my situation, and he graciously absolved my big debt.
God's economy is different than our's. What I gave to the Lord was given back to me in greater measure. I thought the amount I gave would come back to me. Actually, I didn't even think about the money. God supplied all of our needs for the 3 months I needed to cover. I just know the money was there when I needed it. I am amazed at the way this works!
It wasn't like this whole time after the surgery was without its worries. I guess that I should have been without any worries, but I was wondering how the need was going to be met.
I was doing long term contract work at an electical provider in Houston, and the guy I was working for actually came to my house and asked me back to work! I had to take the bus for 3 months since the state of Texas does not allow you to drive for 6 months after you have a seizure. See also this link http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/epilepsy/faq.shtm. There are a few things I would not have done had it not been for the surgery and hospital stay. Things like: riding the bus, writing a book, adding to and updating my website, and taking a mandatory vacation.
God can shorten the recovery period of any illness or surgery, as in my situation. He has the final say of how long the recovery period will be. I describe my memoirs of this in this true miraculous story.
I am a Christian and I have a good foundation in what the Bible says. Head surgery does a job on the mind. The whole mind seems like it was shaken up and it takes a while to recover fully from it. After the surgery, it was hard to believe that it was me who it actually happened to. It was an answered prayer to experience a perfect health restoration! It was difficult to believe that God would let this happen to me (even though it could and did) Whenever you are going through it, a person feels like "how could it happen to me?". My faith was brought back to the basics. After head surgery, it seems that I was brought back to basics of Good vs. Evil. There is a good and an evil in the world. A person has to choose between good and evil. Choose the good reject the evil.
My recovery period was definitely shortened, that was an answered prayer for my family in itself.
Some vitamins Erik Loebl took that are supposed to be good for the brain were Selenium, Omega 3, Green Powder (mix a tablespoon with water), and Maitake. Maitake is actually a mushroom. All of these can be purchased from the local health food store.
