What you once thought to be a solution for removing your emotional pain has now become a trap. You know that your behavior is destroying your life, but you're afraid to stop because if you do the emotional pain will return! Well, I'm here to tell you that there is a better solution for removing the emotional pain and overcoming your addiction; one that you can work through in the privacy of your home!

How to Beat Addiction

Overcoming your addiction is really all about removing the source of your emotional pain, isn't it? If you could remove that pain you wouldn't need to numb it with substances or divert your attention from it with compulsions. Unfortunately, most psychologists, psychiatrists, interventionists, counselors, and specialists still believe that addiction is a disease, and an incurable one at that! They believe that there is no cure and there is no such thing as completely overcoming addiction. However, I have a different take on addiction, and I have proven time and time again that addiction is not a disease! And, I believe that treating it as such is not only counterproductive to recovery, but it prevents people from getting help with addiction. Think about it for a moment. If someone is given the grim prognosis that they have an incurable brain disease, what motivation do they have to find the courage to stop their behavior?

Why Traditional Programs Fail in Excess of 90% of the Time!

My experience has taught me that the mainstream approach to overcoming addiction is fundamentally amiss because formal treatment programs attempt to defeat the symptoms of addiction rather than address the core issue. The majority of all treatment programs offer a group recovery approach as the primary or secondary component of their treatment modality. Unfortunately, these groups are often counterproductive to overcoming addiction and leave the individual at risk for continued relapse.

Recovery groups place a great deal of emphasis on spirituality, powerlessness, and the emergence of a person's sense of soul. They claim many of the steps of the twelve-step program to be paradoxical. Concluding that you are powerless over addiction, but like magic, you some how become more powerful! The goal of the program is a spiritual awakening although they often admit that most people find it difficult to make this connection because they feel victimized by someone else's behavior. My experience teaches me to conclude that admitting you are powerless when it comes to overcoming addiction does not promote empowerment, and nor does it restore self-esteem! In my opinion, many of the twelve steps are not only unnecessary, but they are also counterproductive to making a spiritual connection, increasing self-esteem, and overcoming addiction.

My "5 Steps to Addiction Freedom E-System streamlines the recovery process by overcoming it in five steps. Unlike the twelve-step philosophy, it defines the core issue, and it shows exactly how to overcome addiction. It eliminates the counterproductive and self-incriminating steps of the failed twelve-step philosophy and replaces them with steps that restore self-esteem, a vital and necessary component to abstinence from habitual behavior since addiction is plainly a self-esteem issue!

Most self help books and treatment programs strive to address the addiction itself, but that's the wrong approach. How can you overcome the symptoms without curing the cause? You can't! And since you can't, taking that approach to overcoming addiction is the equivalent of putting a band-aid on the problem.

Addictive behavior is a symptom of underlying emotional trauma. Therefore, when you fix the root of the problem habitual behavior becomes repulsive. Instead, the mainstream philosophy for overcoming addiction has followed a pattern of bombarding people with multiple theories and confusing psychobabble, neither of which address liberation from underlying emotional trauma, restoring self-esteem, or how to overcome addiction.

Three Dangerous Mistakes that People Make about
Addiction

  1. Approaching addiction as a chemical co-dependence

    Accepting the theory that addiction is a chemical co-dependence caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain is not only counterproductive, but it actually prevents most people from uncovering and confronting the root cause of their addiction.
  2. Believing that addiction is a problematic learned behavior

    Believing that addiction is a problematic learned behavior encourages most people to believe that cognitive behavioral modification will lead to success, and nothing is further from the truth. Brushing your teeth every morning is a learned behavior and a habit too! But, ask yourself a question; which one would be easier to walk away from? There's a reason why you've found it hard to stop abusing substances or compulsions, and until you address it nothing will change!
  3. Believing that beating addiction requires will power

    When the root cause of addiction is uncovered and confronted habitual behavior becomes repulsive. Therefore, beating addiction has absolutely nothing to do with willpower whatsoever!

If you've found yourself trapped in addiction or you've relapsed, this may be why!

These strategies don't work!

Now at this point, you may be asking; how could achieving permanent freedom from addiction be that simple? Well, addiction is not, by any stretch, the complicated brain disease that the mainstream touts it to be. On the contrary, when you get right down to brass tacks, it's relatively simple! But it is hard, and I won't mince words about that.

However, if you understand why you made this choice in the first place, you can make another by choosing a better solution that will remove the emotional distress, permanently! Yes, there is a better solution! One that you can work through in the privacy of your home, and one that will give you what you truly desire - happiness!

You want to lead a life that's happier, healthier, and free from addiction more than anything else, and you should! You deserve it! So, don't let it elude you for even one more moment! You see, addiction is not a disease! It's a choice! So, regardless what success or failure you've had in the past or how hopeless you may feel about the prospects of beating your addiction, you can achieve it in just 60 days!
